How does Counselling work?

Counselling is a unique journey for everyone. However, if you boil counselling down to it's basics, there are four factors. Also known as the 40-30-15-15 rule. 40% of what makes counselling work is you, and your counsellors ability to understand your world. 30% is the relationship with between you and your counsellor. Then it's hope (15%) that you and your counsellor have. Then lastly the remaining 15% is the particular theory the counsellor uses.

How do I pay for my sessions?

Payment for your sessions is charged after the session, unless other arrangements have been made. With the Jane App you can input your credit card and payment can be made through there (preferred). E-Transfer is also accepted.

When it comes to benefits, most workplace benefits require you to pay first and then you will be reimbursed by your provider. Each plan is unique, consult your human resource worker or contact your benefits provider.

In some situations you may qualify for funding for counselling through First Nation Health Authority or WorkBC.

But don't worry, we will talk about this in our first session.
